Universal Principles of Alignment:

A Sacred Framework for Every Body

At Honey Rose Movement Studio,

alignment is more than posture—

it’s a ceremony of connection.

Rooted in the Anusara Yoga tradition,

the Five Universal Principles of Alignment

offer a biomechanical and energetic map

that supports every woman’s body

especially those navigating

hypermobility (hEDS) and Fibromyalgia (FMS)

to move with integrity, grace, and resilience.

These principles guide our fascia-informed formats

Honey Flow, Dancing Rose and Alchemy

to ensure that movement is both safe and sacred.

The Five Universal Principles of Alignment

1. Set the Foundation & Open to Grace:

Ground the body and open the heart.

Foundation~

Root the parts of your body that touch the earth.

Grace~

Invite softness, receptivity, and connection to something greater.

For women with hEDS/ FMS:

This principle fosters

nervous system regulation and emotional safety,

creating a stable base without rigidity.

2. Muscular Energy:

Hug muscles to the bones and draw energy inward.

Creates containment and support.

For hEDS/ FMS:

Helps manage joint instability without over-efforting.

Encourages gentle activation without triggering pain.

3. Inner Spiral:

A widening, expansive rotation from feet to pelvis.

Opens the inner thighs and broadens the pelvis.

For hEDS/ FMS:

Prevents collapse and encourages safe range of motion.

Supports fluid movement and reduces tension.

4. Outer Spiral:

A stabilizing, contracting spiral from waist to feet.

Draws the body toward midline and integrates the pelvis.

For hEDS/ FMS::

Offers containment and proprioceptive feedback.

Grounds the body and supports fascia hydration.

5. Organic Energy (Active Extension):

The radiant outward flow of energy from the focal point.

Extends through toes, fingers, and crown.

For hEDS/FMS:

Encourages gentle elongation, fascia release,

and expressive movement without strain.

This is where Shakti rises

not through force, but through embodied grace.

Alignment in Practice: What It Feels Like

In our sessions, alignment is offered as invitation.

You might hear:

“Hug into your midline.”

"Zip up all the way from your pelvic floor to your sternum"

“Rotate your inner thighs back and root the tailbone.”

“Magnetize your pubic bone towards your navel”

“Expand from your heart to the sky.”

These cues are fascia-informed,

trauma-sensitive, and emotionally attuned.

They’re designed to support

every woman’s unique geometry,

whether she’s navigating instability, fatigue,

or simply seeking deeper embodiment.

Alignment as Ceremony

We don’t just teach alignment— we honor it.

It’s how we spiral into truth, soften into strength,

and rise with Shakti.

Whether you're reclaiming movement

after pregnancy or injury,

exploring softness in strength,

or simply longing to feel

Strong, Supple, Supported & Sacred,

the Universal Principles of Alignment

offer a path home to your body.
